Shelves with special upward pointing outer edge serve as trays. Trays are useful e.g. in chemical storage cabinets or in cases where things falling out of the safe could cause damage.

Special drawers are also available in grid finish as baskets. These are mainly offered by safe manufacturers as accessories for fire resistant data cabinets. With separators placed into the basket data carriers , e.g. discs etc. in rows become easily manageable.
